PADI Tec Trimix Instructor

This course is aimed at developing existing Tec Deep Instructor who hold certification as Trimix divers with experience in becoming Trimix educators able to conduct the Tec Trimix curriculums, including the Tec Trimix 65 sub course and Trimix option of the Tec 50 class.

The PADI Trimix Diver Instructor course incorporates instructional philosophies and course goals that directly address the demanding and challenging nature of technical diving instruction with helium gas mixes This Instructor course is conducted over 4-5 full days. We recommend the instructor class run along side a Trimix diver class to gain full hands on teaching experience.

As a Tec Trimix Instructor you’ll be one of the elite who can teach the Tec Trimix Diver. During the course you’ll learn how to teach diving at the cutting edge depth of 75 metres/247 feet to 91 metres/300 feet.

Overview

This course will prepare you to teach the PADI Tec Trimix diver course, one of the highest instructional ratings in the PADI system of diver education and a much sought after and distinguished rating.  The PADI Trimix Instructor course will review your understanding of the academic knowledge presented in both ‘Tec Trimix Diver’ course to 100% mastery and hone you’re teaching skills with technical academic teaching presentations and open water teaching presentations.

As an Instructor candidate you will demonstrate role model performance of several training dives from the ‘Trimix diver’ course and complete practical applications under supervision to ensure total understanding of the subject matter of the trimix diver course and build upon your skills and knowledge that you leanred on the PADI Tec Deep Instructor course.

GoPro Asia’s PADI Trimix Instructor trainer will guide you through all the materials for the program and the standards and procedures for conducting the course.

The final part of the Instructor training course involves you evaluating peer students in training and passing an Instructor theory and standards exam.

Prerequisites

To enroll in the PADI Tec Trimix Instructor Training course, you must

• Have a minimum of 200 logged dives with at least 20 technical decompression dives requiring at least one stage/deco cylinder. Of these, at least 10 must have been made deeper than 40 metres/130 feet using trimix.
• Be a PADI Tec Deep Instructor, or have successfully completed the DSAT Tec Deep Instructor Training course including the instructor examinations
• Be a renewed PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer or higher level PADI Instructor.
• Be certified as a PADI Trimix Diver or have a qualifying full trimix certification.

Upon successfully completing the PADI Trimix Instructor training course, before sending your application to PADI, you must meet the following criteria:

• Have a minimum of 350 logged dives, with at least 50 decompression dives, 30 deeper than 40 metres/130 feet using trimix as the bottom gas, also at least 10 of these deeper than 50metres/165feet using trimix with less than 21 percent Oxygen.
• Have assisted with at least one DSAT Trimix course.
• Have successfully completed the Tec Trimix Instructor Standards Exam and Tec Trimix Instructor Theory and Practical Application Exam.
• Be 21 years old

What will I do?

You will need to have wrist mounted depth gauges and timer, mask, fins and wetsuit.

Course Exclusions:

• Helium  (you will need to pay for the cost of the Helium used by both yourself and the Instructor trainer during your program)
